An Palestinian-American teenager after completing a nine-month period in Israeli detention absent formal charges gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention this past winter within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, which he previously denied.

The US state department applauded Mohammed's liberation.

Mohammed, now 16, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.

In a statement, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "tremendous relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, we're concentrating on getting Mohammed urgent medical care he requires following exposure to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment for months."

American authorities said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance for the Ibrahim family.

{"US government authorities has no higher priority to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," it added.

A group of American legislators endorsed a document to US authorities and President Donald Trump, demanding more be done for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop based in Tampa, previously said his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed since February, learning information solely about his son's condition via legal paperwork.

The teenager remained lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.

The facility also contains grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced of serious terrorism offences including killings.

There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, per correctional service statistics.

Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, document cases involving mistreatment and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin Sayfollah Musallet.

This young American-Palestinian per medical officials succumbed to assault by radical settlers amid clashes during summer.

During that period, the Israeli military said they were examining accounts of a Palestinian had died.

The two cousins were employed together in the family ice cream shop from Tampa.

No indictments occurred with Sayfollah's killing.

"We expect the American government to protect our families," family representatives emphasized.
