British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans shared its support for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
