Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Involving Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
