It has been confirmed that fan-favorite actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
An Important Return to Panem
The duo are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Speculation suggests their appearance will likely occur in a future-set scene, as the main film series concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This represents the sixth installment in the global Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a newly published work by series creator Suzanne Collins. It acts as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Returning to the director's chair is Francis Lawrence, who directed the majority of the previous films in the series.

The film's narrative are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is portrayed as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
