Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
